Val Halla – My Journey to Rock N Roll Heaven

So let me cut right to the chase since there are so many things to cover! its been SO BUSY which is good.

I had my car robbed in Connecticut but I don’t hold it against them

GPS was stolen and some cool clothes I had decided to treat myself to in NYC… big mistake.  I should have been content with dirty tour scrubs and I wouldn’t be out the money AND the clothes. ha.  Lesson learned, buy new things AFTER tour to reward yourself for making it home alive

FIRST THINGS FIRST!

I’m in Saint John, New Brunswick Canada tonight, where the first show of the Canadian tour will happen tomorrow night (or tonight depending on when you read this) at The Bourbon Quarter.

I am doing this Canadian tour in support of a single that has gone to country radio as well (who knew, I’m country I guess? lol.  I haven’t changed anything I’m doing, I guess we’re just seeing how the rest of the world wants to classify me? i dunno… meh!)

ANYHOO!  I do want people to hear the music though, regardless of what its called… so please stay tuned in the coming weeks when i send out request lines and emails.  We very well could push this song into the stratosphere!!….of Canada… it smells like Bacon up there!

I am in the running (currently tied for first place) for the XS New Artist of the Month.  It is a pretty important radio station in Ontario that will give the winner some pretty heavy airplay, and further exposure.  Since I’m trying to get my song moving up the charts in Canada, this is pretty important right now.

NOW FOR THE MOST EXCITING NEWS!

We will be shooting a music video for my song The Bad Girl Touch (finally!) this coming October AS LONG AS we can raise the $5,000 to do it!  In the grand scheme of things this is still A STEAL OF A DEAL as I have the kind folks at 7 Thirty Three Productions donating their time.

We still do need to hire other crew folks and cover hard costs of equipment etc.

we have set up a fundraising campaign through KICKSTARTER.com (and I shot a video in my hotel room tonight to try and discuss with you why I am doing this!)

I have ALL KINDS of cool rewards listed.   Everything from the cool reebok sneakers I have been wearing (they are discontinued and were a signature piece of apparel on every tour i’ve done in the last 3 years!)

to the dress I wore in the last music video designed by Heda Hann…..

TO A CARPARELLI ARCO F1 GUITAR!! It’s going to be the featured guitar in the music video, and I will sign it and send or even, personally deliver, it to the person who donates for it!

I’ll try to send another update in not too long… let you know how the radio stuff goes and where we are in the campaign for the video.

We have until Sept 30th to get votes in for the radio contest, and until Oct 24th to get $5,000 in pledges for the music video.

If we don’t get the full $5,000 in pledges, none of the donations are charged to those who pledged, and we unfortunately will receive ZERO funding.

So its all or nothing here friends.  Let’s pool together and make a cool video that hopefully will change the face of music right now.  I want to be able to say what I want as an artist, and not depend on “the man” to be heard. i want to inspire others to be themselves and be unashamed about it.  Stop hiding, stop apologizing, stop living in fear.

Rock N Roll isn’t dead, they’ve just had it locked away in the basement for a few years now, tied up in a straight jacket, hoping that no one will hear its roar while the kid pop stars and the autotune money chasers parade around upstairs.

So its time to start a fire in the basement, and burn the house down, then emerge from the ashes SANS straight jacket, and rule the earth once more
