Well It is january 2nd, 2011 so I’m starting the year off right.  I’m going to resolve to do a better job at updating the blog more often.  I feel it is important to share the experiences from the road and from the grind, as its part of journey that includes all friends and fans alike.  We’re not out here just doing it for ourselves, and we’re not out here just doing it by ourselves.  Music is community. Music is communication. Music is a passion worth fighting for…. especially now… more than ever.

We’re currently on I-94 heading from Jackson, MI to Chicago, IL.  Then we’ll make our way north to Saskatchewan, Canada again tomorrow.  It will take another 2 days of driving to get us home.

I have no idea what the specifics of this year will be. I definitely never would have predicted a Ted Nugent tour happening to me back in january of 2010.

But I can say that my plans for this year include another tour in the spring, a new record, a new side project & corresponding record for it, a whole lot more lead guitar playing (it can only get better now that’s i’ve actually started doing it), and perhaps even a book!

We’ll hit the east coast, the west coast and everything between this year too.  So please spread the word and tell your friends.

I have a good feeling about music this year. I’ve been watching tv in a few places we’ve been (i don’t have my own, but i seem to catch it at friend’s houses and hotels along the way).

I think there are some really sad and uninspired things on television these days.  Meaning not just garbage reality television, but also some of the music this is being played to the public right now via TV and radio.

There is a lack of creativity, honesty, and ingenuity.  That’s not to say it isn’t out there.  But there are some terrible things being put out right now, let’s be honest.

The business men have taken over both the  business side of music AND the creative side.  they don’t realize they are not the ones who are supposed to determine the music and inspirations of the time.  But they have used their money to produce a certain sound, and once they figure that out, they try to keep it there, try to recreate the past, try to stick to a formula that just won’t let them down.

But I can see BIG things ahead for music in general in 2011.  We are about to enter a new time.  A time where reality isn’t a show, but a moral that we uphold and live by.  We are in need of some great leaders at this time, and I think music is going to once again serve that purpose.  Point poeple towards musicians in this respect, and some of the biggest decisions and politics of the way, will fall in the hands of musicians.

Very cool.
